It was pretty obvious to me the episode when Hiyori first sorted out the fan letters. Also, Chizuru gave me the jealousy vibe but bottles it in. I guess I've seen similar characters that also dresses like her, the introverted types. What wasn't predictable is how the Gyaru character, Hiyori and Chizuru's best friend, was how she is nicer than how she appears and is a great character personality wise. When she was first introduced, I assume she was going to be a b*tch later, but I was proven wrong and I'm glad that I am wrong. It goes to show that anyone shouldn't judge a book by their cover.

This was the first idol anime I’ve watched, and I absolutely loved it, at least in the beginning. I started listening to some HoneyWorks songs because of this anime, and I’m really glad for it. Many of the songs are absolutely brilliant, and I’m listening to them all the time. Especially Mona’s songs.

But back to the topic of this anime – I loved how the Lip x Lip boys went from hating and constantly arguing with each other to actually being friends (I guess…). I liked how Hiyori was the catalyst of that change. I absolutely adored her in the beginning – she is just so cute. I mean her fluffy, messy hair is so cute on her. Her bushy eyebrows are, surprisingly, cute too. And her being voiced by Inori Minase is absolutely the best. I liked her attitude in the beginning. I mean, she is such a nice girl.

What I think was the peak of this anime was the Lip x Lip concert with the Yume Fanfare song meant for Hiyori in the end. That episode was absolutely perfect, it was amazing, and it made me tear up – an absolute 10/10 episode. But the show went quite downhill from then (except for the sports festival and the last episode). The introduction of the random childhood friend Nagisa was quite pointless and then came the whole “stalker” arc. We all know what happened, and I really didn't like it. But it's not worth mumbling about at this point.
I mean, it feels good to see that Hiyori and Chizuru became friends again, but the way they did it… it just doesn’t feel right.
In any case, I’m glad to see Hiyori as a manager again. This last episode kinda
raised the rating for the second half of the anime.

So yeah, if I were to give points to each half of the season, it would be 8/10 for the 1st half (+ sports festival), and 6/10 for the rest. So for the whole anime I might give 7.25/10. Now gimme an anime about Mona and I will be happy!

Not being amazing is most idol anime. On occasion you get something amazing like AKB0048 but most of the time it's just an idolm@aster or Love Live, where story is about average and it needs decent character writing or an interesting gimmick to get you to stick around. A 7 is about as good as they get and even something like AKB0048, which I really liked and would be interested in a second season of, isn't something I'd rate higher than an 8.5

That really is an all-star line up. I'm only missing Hirochan and Suwabesama.

Honestly, we got most of this lineup not because of the anime, but the MV's just do so well. As well as the fact that the idols in this show get actual live concerts (as those holographic idols) Really got to hand it to Honeyworks who worked really hard on those MVs to get that much attraction to this day :) It is popular enough to even green light this anime that was adapted from the novels after all ^^
Honestly the only ones that I'm really surprised they got is Sawashiro Miyuki and Kayano Ai who have no MVs nor think they will ever get one because their roles are very supporting compared to the high schoolers here. (Also Nagisa but I won't be surprised if Honeyworks decides to drop a surprise MV focusing on Nagisa. He did have his own episodes and quite a hefty background story, especially with Hiyori after all) Everyone else is just reprising their roles (either from previous anime or their respective MVs)
Also it's Kakihara Tetsuya ^^ His nickname is Kakki after all~

Nagisa does have his own MV, but it's a CHiCO song: Gamushara. Would love for him to get his own character song some day though, and maybe a duet with Hiyori hehe

I can't say I'm a HoneyWorks fan. I consider myself just a regular follower. So, the moment I heard this project being announced I can't help but raise my eyebrows because Hiyori's and Lip X Lip's arc is one of my least favorite arcs (Mona, Sena, and their parents are still my favorite arcs so far). Nonetheless. It intrigued me anyway and had been looking forward to it.

Well. As it turned out, the first 5 episodes suffered heavily because of how generic the storyline was (Aizo and Yuuchiro being mean toward Hiyori at first don't help either). But it picked up quite fast after that and became much more interesting. I still hope it would be like that since the first episode, though.

That being said, Hiyori really carries the show hard. Her positive attitude and interactions with the other casts were really fun to watch. And the big-name VAs that are jam-packing in this one show really sure help (in case you didn't know, they were also cast to sing their character songs for HoneyWorks).

Also, if you didn't already notice, Hiyori speaks with dialect and Minase Inori really livens this up with her great performance.

Overall, it's 7/10 for me. I enjoyed this quite a lot (mainly the second half) but still think it could be better. Still looking forward to the future project from HoneyWorks, though.

I've still never listened to a HoneyWorks song outside of this anime. :/ But I did enjoy this, mostly for Hiyori and Juri.

Several things happened in this final episode, but the only one I cared about was Hiyori becoming their manager again. They should have drug her back sooner.

I was wondering why the two weren't inviting Hiyori, they wanted her back as their manager again instead, that's sweet.

I found it amusing how Hiyori started editing the messages whenever they bicker or fight so they make up quicker lol, if they want her to stop they'll just have to contact each other personally instead.

Worth the watch and time spent but ironic how irl is different from anime and that's why i love anime's events instead of these events in irl.
